About Casenet-MO.us

We help Missouri people read and understand court records on CaseNet, plus the basic steps of how a case moves through the courts — written in plain words, not in legal language.

Missouri Court Records Lawyer-Checked Pages Plain Words Sources On Every Page

Why You Won’t See Names or Photos Here

We run this site as a small team, not as one person. We chose to keep the team behind the writing instead of putting names and faces on the front. There are a few reasons for this choice:

What matters is whether the information is right. You can check every fact we share against the official Missouri court website and the state law books. The source is what counts, not the writer.

The Missouri lawyers who help us check our work do it as part of our review steps. They are not here to take on clients through this site, so we keep them out of the public part.

Our pages are written and updated by more than one person over time. Putting one name on top would not be honest about how the work really gets done.

We feel that being open about how we work is better than putting a face on a page.

Who We Are

Casenet-MO.us is a small Missouri-focused information site. To be clear about what we are and are not:

01
We are not a law firm. We do not take cases or speak for anyone in court.
02
We are not part of Missouri Courts, CaseNet, the Office of State Courts Administrator, or any state office.
03
We are not a lawyer referral site. We do not sell your details to lawyers or anyone else.
04
We do not store, copy, or sell case data from CaseNet. We only explain how the public records work.
05
We are a writing team that studies how Missouri courts work and turns it into easy guides.
§ 03

How We Write Our Guides

Every page on this site goes through four steps before it goes live. We follow the same steps for every topic so the work stays steady.

📚
Step 01

Research

  • Missouri Revised Statutes (RSMo)
  • Missouri Supreme Court Rules
  • Official courts.mo.gov pages
  • Public CaseNet help pages
Step 02

Writing

  • Plain everyday English
  • Short, simple sentences
  • Each point linked to its source
  • No copying from other guide sites
Step 03

Lawyer Check

  • Read by a Missouri lawyer
  • Bar status open to public lookup
  • Used for criminal & family pages
  • Done before the page goes live
🔄
Step 04

Keeping It Fresh

  • Last-checked date at the top
  • Re-checked at least once a year
  • Updated sooner if a law changes
  • Change list at the bottom
§ 04

What We Cover

01 How to look up a case on CaseNet, read the case status, and understand each filing
02 Criminal cases from arrest to first court date, hearings, trial, sentencing, and appeals
03 Charges in plain words — drugs, theft, assault, gun charges, sex offenses, online crimes
04 DWI and DUI from the traffic stop through breath tests, license suspension, and getting your license back
05 Expungement under RSMo § 610.140 — who can apply, how to file, and the wait times
06 Family matters — custody, child support, paternity, divorce, and orders of protection
§ 05

What We Don’t Do

Just as it helps to know what we do, it helps to know what we will not do. Please read this part before you write to us:

We don’t give advice on your own case.
We don’t tell you what will happen in your case.
We don’t call courts, lawyers, or police for anyone.
We don’t keep your personal info beyond what we need to write you back.

If you need help with your own case, please talk to a Missouri lawyer. The Missouri Bar runs a free lawyer search at mobar.org.

03 Add a note at the bottom of the page so other readers can see what was changed
